Scheduled summer maintenance on a ContiRoll press and conversion of a diagonal saw system

Once a year, we carry out scheduled maintenance work on a ContiRoll press for one of our long-standing industrial clients. Each project begins with a detailed on-site inspection to obtain a precise understanding of the required work and to incorporate any operational constraints directly into project planning and cost calculations.

In 2023, the project began with a preparation day dedicated to setting up the worksite. This included installing our tool container and organizing the necessary lifting equipment, such as forklift support. At the start of the scheduled maintenance shutdown, we began with bearing replacement on the control cage followed by cylinder replacement. Subsequently, additional bearing replacements were carried out on both the upper and lower chain circulation systems. Finally, the friction linings on the belt circulation system were replaced.

Alongside these maintenance activities, we completed an additional project during the same period involving the modification of a diagonal saw system. The scope included dismantling plant components, including a soundproof enclosure and associated safety equipment. Some components were replaced, while others were repositioned within the system. The project concluded with the reinstallation of the soundproof enclosure, installation of new safety fencing and several days of commissioning support to ensure smooth system start-up.
